Tours is a nice walkable city. The 'old town' is picturesque and the more modern side has lots of shops. Lots of bars, cafes and restaurants to choose from. There are lots of tourist attractions including gthe cathedral of course. Also there is a large tourist office with helpful staff to help organise day trips to Chateaus etc. Transport links are very good with a station close to the city centre.

It was very easy to find the hotel, even though it was in the middle of the city. The hotel sent directions in advance of adjacent underground parking which was a real help.
We recommend La Plume Blanche in the Place Plumereau

Beautiful cathedrals and a charming city centre, spread out...
Beautiful cathedrals and a charming city centre, spread out along the Loire river. The trams and busses are easy enough to figure out. The brochures describe the 'gastronomic' experience that awaits, but that must apparently be researched and booked in advance. Strolling around the old medieval streets without a booking, we found more kebab shops and bars than gourmet restaurants, but perhaps we were in the wrong place.

I choose Tours as a base camp for exxploring the Loire...
I choose Tours as a base camp for exxploring the Loire valley up and down by train and bike. This did work out, just beware of the train schedule. It is very sparse except on weekends. Tours itself turned out to be more attractive than I had expected.
The room was small and basic, but very very clean and well decorated, i have used a lot of budget hotels when driving between the UK and southern France. And this is by far the best to date. Friendly, courteous staff and a really good value breakfast at only 8.50€. The.built in usb points next to the bed were a refreshing touch. Will definitely book again.
The flat was really beautiful and very curated. Very easy to reach from the rail station but very central to walk anywhere in tours. There is coffee and teas and all you might need to stay there. the bathroom is one of the best part of the house. Everything was thoroughly clean. getting the keys was easy and we received the instructions plenty in advance.
Ed Ellen’s location 3 min walk to train station and excellent restaurants. clean large rooms, great coffee and tea selection in room. pool and hot tub were a. ice treat. staff friendly, and breakfast Buffett was very yummy with lots of selections of cheese, pastry, eggs, fruits, yogurts. best breakfast highly recommended.
The hotel is located close to the train station and the city center. Everything you need is nearby. It is possible to park for free on the road next to the hotel. Tours was our starting point for exploring the beautiful castles of the Loire Valley. The city is also beautiful for walking and enjoying your vacation.
Excellent location right outside the train station. Superb view of the wonderful train station from the hotel room's window. It was the best hotel in our entire trip to France. We had a room for 3 and the third bed was placed in a mini separate room which provided more privacy.
Perfect for a city break, this hotel is close to streets that are full of life and some of best rated restaurants in town. It’s walking distance from the cathedral and the Loire. If you have bikes, as we did, you are able to store them in the hotel‘s locked garage.
Best bit about the stay was the location, secure underground parking. The room was fair for the price, the were a couple of problems with cleanliness and a broken kettle but nothing major. Best described as a good budget hotel close to the city.
Great location, easy to find in North Tours. You can eat a meal next door at the Mercure, which was excellent. The breakfast in the Ibis was good and the staff were friendly. I think for a budget hotel, this is excellent.
Right in the centre of old town Tours..well decorated in a modern style..a very warm personal welcome on our arrival. But best of all very very clean..the owners and her staff are a delight ..a small team who do everything.
Very friendly, welcoming staff; cute room. The hotel is a quick drive easy walk from the train station and city centre. It was a shared
shower but the room had its own private 2-piece powder room, so that was great.
The hotel is new, room & bathroom are spacious, modern and clean. Staff are friendly, helpful & thoughtful.
Location is near the Centre ville.
Will come back again to Tours and stay at Les Tresorieres.
Beautiful and historic home; our host Dominick was very kind and informative. Breakfast was delicious too. It is a little far from Tours center but an easy drive or bus ride.
Great welcome. The host was very friendly. He showed us where the nice places in Tours are for dinner. The hotel was very quiet and we slept well. Breakfast was also perfect.
Excellent hotel in central location with parking and very strong wifi signal. The bonus was freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast which was served in a lovely courtyard.
walk in non- slip shower (strand to mention this but some hotel’s shower floor turns I to an ice rink when wet) Good range of bathroom products provided. Dog friendly.
